My name is Angelica May and I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 27 last year September 2023. I found out I carried the BRCA1 gene which is a genetic gene mutation that causes breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Unfortunately it was passed to me from my dad and he did not tell my mom or me although he knew he carried the gene. I went through 6 months of chemo and had a double mastectomy. I also had 3 weeks of radiation. I was on a lupron shot to help surprise my ovaries during chemo and thankfully it worked. Me and my fiance couldn’t afford to freeze my eggs so we trust God that the lupron shot will work and it did. I had a complete response with my treatments and here I am cancer free. My high sweetheart of 10 years proposed to me when I runged the bell March 20 , 2024 and it went viral on TikTok. We went on the Jennifer Hudson show to share our story and ever since God has blessed us and reminding us that he got us no matter what. We don’t have any children and having children is our biggest goal now. With me carrying this gene, we don’t want our future children to carry this gene and going through IVF to help us avoid that is our best option. That along is gonna cost us 8,000 for the whole process and we will appreciate any help given towards completing this journey with us. Once we have the amount of children we want, my doctor will then remove my ovaries so I won’t have to worry about getting ovarian cancer. Thank you for hearing my story.
